beat my horn to death

Wow now im scared i really will set off my airbag.

So how do i get the big plastic piece in the center of the wheel off... does it pop off or do i have to unscrew/release something.

Well don't worry, airbags are completely harmless when they're properly disabled and the proper safety procedures are taken.

Last few airbags I removed had screws on the back side of the steering wheel. Unscrew them and remove the airbag, and unplug the bright yellow connector. Everything connector that has bright yellow on it is for caution because an airbag is connected to that wire somewhere. If you try to do this with the airbag system powered up, you do run the risk of blowing off the airbag. But like I said, if you take the proper precautions, you will be just fine.

When you have the airbag out, store it on a shelf away from yourself with the metal base to the floor/desk.
