Best mud tires for 1997 silverado z71
I want to put another set of mud tires on my 1997 Z71 and i would like a wide tire that wont rub and has decent wear on the road. I am puttin them under a stock susspension no lift at all. I dont want them to rub my fender wells and I would like an agressive tread. What size and type should i use?

I have a 98 Z71. I have been running Goodyear Mud Terrain tires 285/75/16. I first had them on the stock wheels. It would rub just a little when I turned the wheel as far as it would go one way or the other. It rubbed on the A-arm or the suspension. I have since put after market wheels on that are 1/2" wider and it doesn't rub anymore. The tires did stick out from the truck and the side of the truck was always getting dirty so I have also added some fender flares. The tires are a little loud. I am on my second set and like them. I got 90 thousand miles on the first set with mostly street driving. I did have to play around with air pressure to get them to wear properly. I run them at about 38-42 pounds. The truck is also at stock ride height.
Hope this helps in your choice. |
