Body Lift???

I have a 2002 Chevrolet Z71 I have upgraded some and now I am thinking of a 3 inch body lift. I need to know pros and cons and I know about lifting the bumpers but will I be able to tow at all with a drop down hitch? Or not at all? Also maybe the average cost of installing a body kit by a shop? I live in Mississippi.

Anything more than two inches is generally frowned upon, because of the increased stress on the mounting bolts between the body and the frame. There would be no problem towing as long as you get the right drop hitch.

you also have to worry about the filler hose for the fuel tank if you go to high and the fan for the radiator if it is not electric

the fan shroud is the only problem anybody i know has had while installing a 3 inch body... i know a guy thats had one for three years on his truck and he's had no problems with it... handling will definitely suffer, as it will be a little "tilty"... and yeah towing won't be a problem if you get a drop hitch

The hitch hieght shouldn't change becouse the reciever is mounted to the frame. If you are pulling with your bumper ball (which I don't reccommend) then when you relocate the bumper it would move. Other than that, take into concideration brake lines, filler tube and fuel lines, anything that is attached to both the frame and the body. That should get you started.

On my 93' I had a 3" body lift, and the only issues were that the steeringshaft was a little short with only 2 inches of play (never had a problem though), and the tranny linkage was right at the end of the bar, and the guage was always a little off. Otherwise ran great, jst looked funny as the frame was soo low.
