Brake Light Problem... PLEASE HELP NEWBIE!
Hey, first of all... great site guys. Now onto my problem:
Its my dads farm truck actually, an 88 Chevy Cheyenne with like 45K actual miles.
Anyway, sometime within the past year the brake lights stopped working. I checked the BRAKE/HAZARD fuse and it was fine. Hazards in front work, though. The bulbs have been replaced in the back. The lights do work in the back when the headlights are on, but they dont get any brighter when the brake is applied.
Any ideas?

hey i had the same thing happen to my 90 chevy and found out that it was the brakelight relay switch is located on the arm of the pedal itself. about $11 for it at carquest. it does have a lever that moves up and down sometimes it sticks also you might have to adjust it by hand instead of using brake to set right. good luck.
