brake question
 

What would cause both rear calipers to be sticky, at the same time? If it was only one I would think the caliper has failed, or the sliders are corroded. I'm new here, this is for a 99 gmc. I know I'm in the wrong forum, but the silverado section gets twice as much action and this brake issue is stressfull. Thanks

How old are your pads? I would just do the rear pads if theyre getting old, and bleed the brakes while your at it. Then see if that fixes it. Hey your always welcome on the silvy forum, same corp, same sh*t. Good luck!

Get a brake flush. Sometimes when the master cylinder is low, we tend to use stored brake fluid. Big no no!! Over time that fluid will build up condesation and collect water. So when it is put into your system, water will cause corrosion and rust. So give it a flush and then put new parts.

A bad master cylinder, corroded sliders, a collapsed brake hose, a sticking e brake, a kinked brake line, worn pads that have caused the piston to "shift" sideways.....I would start buy replacing the pads all the way around and see if your rear calipers "push" back easy.....sometimes if your pads are worn they will stick and a new set of pads fixes it.

The pads are old. The truck has 78000 on it, i bought it new, so they're original. I'll try flushing the system. New calipers are probly in line, along with new pads. Thanks

I would take it to a shop. Here Firestone has a machine to power flush it. It was only 30 bucks. Otherwise it will be messy. Good luck.

yep if both went bad i'd look at a fluid flush first.
