A/C and idle speed???

Replaced my ac compressor a few days ago. All went well.

Problem is the compressor only runs for a minute or less then cycles on and off. Whats up with that?? I did double check the freon level and it is good. The outside temp is a little cool right now too.

Also, problem number two. When the compressor kicks on it really affects the idle speed. Much more than it should. Was wondering if it could be the IAC?

Any thoughts...checks....replacement parts that anyone can think of??

Thanks.......

Did you make sure to vaccum the system down really well after the install? If not then there will not be as much freon in the system as you think. This will cause it to not run very long.

Yes, took it to a shop and the evacuated the system, leaked checked it and filled it with freon.

I think it is the idle control valve, just not sure?? Was wondering if anyone else has experienced this??

RE: A/C and idle speed???

The compressor kicks on and off every 30 seconds or so even with the defroster ON. So it's not just with the A/C is on.
