Default A/C problems

I have had a problem with my A/C starting to blow hot air on the driver side. I killed the engine and restarted, everything went back to normal. Anyone with any suggestions? This happened about 5 times last year and only once this year. Any advise will be deeply appreciated.

Thanks,
Corey

Its usually the temp actuator for that side...a small motor that moves the door..
but it needs to be scanned to know for sure.

Hey argon you had said this will happen if you unplug the battery the actuator will move and you have to unplug it again to get it back to the right way. But why would it do it just going down the road? Thanks

the actuators...for some reason...lose their "home" positions, and they default to hot...(Gm has always hadtheir systems default to defrost and hot if their is a problem)

they can lose home by having power removed,or because they are going out.
