Cab marker lights on a 1500?

i want to put some cab lights on my 1500 and i have one question. is it possible to hook up these lights so they will turn on with the headlights instead of installing a separate switch?

yup. Just splice into the wires.

splice into the wires that behind the control for the headlights?

That's what I would assume, and it would probably be the easiest to run down that driver side pillar. I'm not sure where mine are run but I know they only come on when the headlights are on... NOT with the DRL's

I agree. It should be as simple as that! What year are you putting them on? What style/year cab lights are you goin to use? Ive always thought about doin this. Let us know how it goes!

im not sure wat year your truck is but i have an 09 and i asked the service guy at my dealer if they could put some on mine and they said it is not a big deal because there are wires in place for them already, just nothing is hooked up to them.

Wow really? So if thats the deal itd be as simple as mounting the lights. Im sure the older trucks aint pre ran.

i prolly wont end up putting em on till its gets warmer though lol

Thats a hard decision. I like both styles myself. For my truck Id probably do the five lights because i have a 98, sqaure body. Think the 3 piece makes more since on a rounder body.

Have you checked out the ones that comes on the 07+? They have a tint over them. Depending on the color of the truck i think they look nice.

The three peice is the style that was offered on the 2000 and newer. The 5 peice was what was offered on the 88-98 like mine. Those lights are identical to mine
