Default cai & cowl

In my continuing modification of my Silverado, I was told a CAI combined with a Cowl induction hood would greatly increase mpg and overall performance. The cowl would allow hot engine air to escape easily, while the CAI would replace it with cold air quickly. What do you think?

This is true, I have a CAI and was pretty suprised at how my truck acted after installation. The cowl does exactly what you said, it gives all that hot air a place to go and cools down the engine bay. As far as MPG and HP gains on both im not too sure.

it will look good! this may be a dumb question, but can I put CAI on my truck or is it too old?

I'm sure you could... It will probably have to be custom, though. I doubt you can find one already made for your truck.

Actually I would just get a K&N filter and replace the stock one.

I got a Voolant CAI and a Goodmark cowl hood, good looks and a good ride. the CAI made a difference, its not running 10's but you'll notice it
