Uhhh, that could be a gear problem in there with the ejection motor and all that. You might have to take the deck out and pull it apart to get to the cd. Now youve got an excuse for a better one!

I am having the same problem and also like the factor radio. This is my second radio but the truck is out of warranty now. Anyone know someone who rebuilds the factory radios?

The factory radio is needed to program the door locks and other features. Do any after market boxes have that capacity?

I've had similar problems with mine but it'll eveuntally eject the cd not more than a day later. But the stock deck changed/got an update in 2003.

If you need to retain your factory chimes with an aftermarket stereo look at this

my pops had the same issue in his impala. (i know this is a truck forum but it was the same stereo.) the rollers that ejected the cd dried out and cracked. we replaced them from the local chevy dealer once but it happened again. we pulled the radio and put in a blaupunkd and everything been fine since. Still got the dings and whatnot. Most stereos today (over 80 bucks) automatically compensate for the warning devices. They may sound different tho. (The impala went from the ding to a beep but still does the same thing..)
