changed oil now no heat??

Default changed oil now no heat??

I changed my oil for the winter and now my heat is gone??? What did I do wrong I am useing 5w30 penzoil full synthetic now my temp gauge goes past the 210 mark and 1 slash from 260 degrees should I change my oil back to 10w 40 ?? please help

ohh I forgot truck is a 2000 model

Sounds coincidental. I think rather, you are having cooling system issues. Normally if the only problem is a lack of heater it's because your thermostat is stuck open but your truck is also overheating. I'd check to make sure the water pump is flowing correctly.

Check the coolant level.

You also may have insufficient coolant that may be why your truck is overheating.
