supercharged TBI issues
hey everyone. i recently put a paxton supercharger made for a tpi camaro and fabbed it to work on my tbi 350 in my 88 gmc. im havin some problems tho. it builds pressure fine but seems to blow out gaskets in the tbi unit and leaks gas from the bottom. its not the gasket that goes between the manifold and the TB....and when i first start it it leaks out of a vacuum line that i have plugged up in the front of the TB. the one to the left of the pcv valve hose(use to go to the egr valve) anyone that has expierience with puttin boost to a TBI engine please let me know what you think. thanks..

RE: supercharged TBI issues
Is it coming form the TBI unit's collar? There is that POS collar thing on the TBI unit that doesn't seal for sh*t. It sits on top and has that vacuum line/breather elbow coming off of it. If it is coming from there I would either fab a new one or seal the sh*t out of that one. Mr. Gasket makes some decent carb spacers that will work but you'll still need to make good gaskets for it.

RE: supercharged TBI issues
Sh*t I don't know. I would have to see the setup I guess. I can't think of what it could be. Unless there is too much pressure in the TBI unit and its cause the fuel to squeeze out anywhere it can.....like blowing on a stream of water coming out of the sink and the water flys everywhere, kinda like that. Its all I can think of but you wouldn't think 6psi would be enough to do that.
It kinda sounds like the supercharger is blowing the air in, but the engine isn't taking it fast enough, just a thought not a real answer.
