is there any way to lift the front of a 1999 (old body style) chevy pickup about 3' without buying a suspention kit?

leveling kit, or if you dont mide ride quality, crank up your torsion keys, you prolly cant get full 3 inches, but thats the only way for cheap

thanks i was reading something on truxxxx's website. they said to get new trrsion bar keys and shock mounts to mount your shocks lower.

Ya that is one way to go they are pretty cheap. I was actually thinking of getting one my self. Truxxx has one on ebay somewere. It was really cheap but it was the same thing you would buy strait from them.

how much of a lift can u get from crankin the torsion bars?

1.5-2" reliably. I tucked 33's under my Silvy with the bars turned up. I got tyerd of the ride quality so I went down to 32's and turned down the bars again.

if you crank them up all the way will the back end set lower?

Maybe, It all depends on how much adjust you have on the bars. Make sure that you turn them the same number of turns on both sides, so that it lifts the same on both sides. Other than that, make sure that you measure how much it lifts the front, then you will know.

Also when you get done turning them get an aligment to make sure every thing is still in line. I got about 1 1/2 closer to 2 inches out of my bars and was able to keep it all aligned.

That is kinda the problem with the torsion bars. When they allign it, they will use the bars to allign it. Unless you have them punch out the knock outs on the A arms. Then they can adjust it accordingly without having to move the torsion bars. My reccomendation, set the hight that you want then have it alligned and watch them and make sure that they don't touch your hight adjustments. Make them do the allignment the right way, not the easiest way.
