Cheap way to keep engine cool.
 

I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500 5.3L and I was wonder if there is a way to keep the my engine cool that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. My truck doesn't over heat I just don't like the huge loss of power when the fan turns on. Someone told me that there is a cheap thermastat you can buy that keeps your truck at like 185 degrees and it only costs like 15 dollars but that seems to good to be true. If anyone knows of anything please tell it is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

i went on ebay and bought a generic brand cool air intake for around 100 bucks its not a good as a k&n but it give you power and keeps it cool
