chevt brake problems
I have a 94 chevy trucj and the front rotors wont retract after i let off of the brake pedal. I thought that it was the calipers sticking so i relplaced both of them and it is still doing it. The truck is a hydra-boost and I dont know much about this setup so any help would be appreciated.

RE: chevt brake problems
hydroboost can stick...or the master cyl can stick...or the abs unit...
do they lock up and stay locked up awhile? those were bad about brake hoses collapsing,...but usually just 1 side |
RE: chevt brake problems
I dont really know how long they stay engaged but i changed the wheel bearings the other night and took it to the car wash and when i got home there was smoke coming from the wheels. I thought it was the bearings so i took of the wheel and tried to turn the hub assembly and it would barely budge. That is when i decided to change the calipers and that did nothing. They dont seem to be engaged for a long time though.

and its both??
again..brake hoses are the biggest culprit..they swell inside and won't retract... rears are free?...sounds like she's gonna have to be checked out |
RE: chevt brake problems
The rears dont lock up but when i bled the brakes i didnt bleed the rears. I dont know if this would have anything to do with it. one of the brake lines isnt even a year old as i replaced it because a hole got wore into it.

RE: chevt brake problems
is this new brake line on the rear? always a better idea to bleed all 4 at the same time...
