Question chevy exhaust

hey guys i was thinking about putting an H pipe in my exhaust system and i was just wondering what are the advantages/ drawbacks with having one i have heard it makes the truck quieter but give more power but i want to know for sure before i do that and how do i know where to put it? can i put it anywhere?

my truck is a 1994 chevy 350 extcab shortbox 4x4 z71 with true duals straight pipe and i got glasspacks in the toolbox that im thinking of putting on it just have not had the time

thanks in advance

All it does is kinda equalize the flow. You wont really see or feel any gain from this unless you have a cam.

no cam just stock 350 with true dual exhaust. i have also heard it will regain alittle of the lost torque because of the true duals. im sure you know more than i do.

Well true duals does not benefit any stock 350. Thats too much free flow. Only time it helps is on top end, but again, with a cam. Im sure it sounds nice my friend but low end is gone.

i like the way it sounds but my neighbors dont. but i just tell them you live in the country out in the sticks and there are people working on derby cars all the time so get used to it. i think its funny when the people come up from st paul/ minneapolis and say my truck is too loud for their ears.

runs just fine. gets around 12-14 mpg depending on how far i put my foot into the fan blades. thats y i was asking about h pipe didnt know if it would help mpg of not. also i have had a SES light on and its been for the o2 sensor which i went to go replace it today and i found out it dont have one.......so now i need to make a hole for it but i was also looking and the original one as far as i can tell on factory exhaust is mounted in y pipe after the exhaust manifolds before the cat. can i get by with just having it on one pipe or do i need to put in an h pipe so it can read both sides?would like to find out before i do just one pipe and find out it needs to read both
