RE: Cold air induction?
You should go to the Chevy Silverado board and do a search for "Ultimate Free Mods List". It has directions for cutting your factory air box open to creat a free ram air inlet which works VERY well with a K&N air filter. Also, everyone on here recommends a custom tune by a performance shop rather than buying a chip. You can get a lot more out of a custom tune than a chip. Wheatley Tuning is one but this guy is bad about not replying to e-mails. Nelson performance is another good one but I think they are expensive.

RE: Cold air induction?
If your looking for a direct bolt on for cold air. K&N is good also Volant. Either way you are going to need to drop cash. $250-$400 depending on which one you want. As for the chip superchip is good. Charger has a good point though. If you can find a speed shop to program your chip thats cool. Superchip has different settings, so either way works. You can get a used unlocked one for cheap. Go to ebay and you'll see they are cheap and resonable, compared to other websites. I myself got my stuff through ebay after searching a lot of websites, I mean a lot. Good Luck.

RE: Cold air induction?
Well I ended up going with the outlaw CAI. After doing some seaching I found that it out performed the Volant. Not sure how it compares to K&N but I'm sure it's about the same. I got it off ebay for less than $200, which is a lot cheaper than if you get it off their website. I haven't decided between custom tune or a tuner yet but thanks for the tips.
