cold blooded 4.8L

I was wondering if the 4.8L is known to be cold blooded. When i first start it, it has a hesitation, and sorta bucks or surges until it gets going. The throttle response just don't seem to be there. No codes or anything, just seems like the throttle response is mushy, until it builds up the rpm's. Is that the way V-8's are, as i haven't owned many V-8's. Is there anything i can do cosmetically to possibly help it, such as disconnecting the battery terminals, and reset the computer, or etc? I read a little bit about after doing some mods and etc, its a good idea to reset the computer. I have no mods other than a drop in K&N filter, which i put in last weekend, but the throttle response has been like this since i bought it, 3 weeks ago. Also, where would the paint code be located, as i want to eventually put a pair of hood scoops on it, and need the paint code when i get them painted. Thanx, Jim

As far as the hesitation when you first start it...maybe the throttle body needs cleaning out? The mushiness that your describing sounds like the torque management...if you ease into the throttle a little bit lighter off and then start to give the gas a little more squeeze, it will accelerate a little better. Or have your ECM reprogrammed to get rid of the torque management.

Ok, I called the used car dealership where i bought it and they told me, that the hesitation when i first take off is common. Something to do with open loop and closed loop, and the computer hasn't read all the info, and etc, is how i took it to be. Once ya go down the road a bit it comes out of it, which it does. My main dealership, which i have dealt with for years, my mechanic wants to drive it and see first hand what its doing, so hes gonna take it tomorrow morning. What does the PCM do?And the ECM?Whats the cost to reprogramthem? I'll keep ya posted, thanx, Jim
