i bought my 93' 1500 about 3months ago. the oil was dirty so i went with full synthetic oil and started to hear a "dry" start sound every so often when i start it. so i changed to oil to 10w30 conventional. still the same!! did i screw it up installing full synthetic???

Try a flush then go with a synthetic blend, not full full synthetic. Use the same 10w30.

 

I think you need to clean up as there might be dust stuck in that area.Just check it, I am sure you will get rid out of that problem.
