Consistant brake noise...???
i have been experiencing an obnoxious brake squeaking since last summer. my 04' 2500 was in need of new pads andi had little money so i just put the most inexpensive pads on the truck i could find- the rotors were fine--since then, the brakes make horrible noise when stopping- so i recently put new front pads AND rotors on, good pads this time, and still getting the noise. we installed them correctly and used the brake lube/grease as well-- the noise seems to be coming from the front, so i don't think it is the rear brakes, but i'm going to check them anyway-- if it is the front however, could the brake pad clips be going bad and causing my problem??
any ideas? thanks, wayne |
oh come on, no body has any input?? lol

Try duramax forums they respond a littler quicker. And I have pretty much the same problem.

Did you bond or glue the pads to the caliper pistons? If not, the pads will rattle and have a tendency to squeal when applied.
There is a product to do this. |
When I hear NOISE BRAKES ??? The first thing I think of is Metallic brakes some times they are good and when they are bad they are real bad. As stated above.... It's all in the installation.

ok, thanks guys!!!

It could possibly be your rears if you have a leaking wheel cylinder too. I was baffled for awhile because I thought it was my fronts as well
