Make sure your Mass Air Sensor is clean of grime, and the throttle body sprayed down with some carb cleaner. See if that hepls first. A dirty MAF sensor can cause sloppy slow shifts.

Mine from 1st to 2nd with half throttle all the way up to full throttle will chirp the tires.

I have a 07 Z71 with the 5.3 and I have the Edge Evolution programmer normally running it on the economy (it runs way better than stock), would the vette servo still be a good upgrade even with the programmer?
