Creaking steering noise
Hello,
I have a creaking sound coming from inside the cab while turning at slow speeds. It has no performance issues just annoying. I think the steering column is rubbing on the housing of a bearing needs lubed. Any input would be great. Thanks, Tom |
It could still be squeaking from outside the truck. Check your steering linkages, grease the frond end and see what happens.

There is a known problem that has your symptoms. I have the same thing on my 2003, but have not done anything about it.
Here is the GM service bulletin: tsb# 00-02-35-003n There is lots of info about it on the 'net. Gerald |

Thanks for all the replies, as soon as the temp drops under 100°F I'll take a closer look and fix the problem.
