Dash questions

This is my first day on this forum and I'm loving all the info. I have an '04 Silverado with the factory Bose 6-disc changer w/ XM and OnStar. I just pulled the dash off to do some investigating but am looking for some advise:

1) Any suggestions or recommendations on iPod interfaces? I'm tired of my FM transmitter.

2) One of the bulbs behind the dual climate controller burned out. Is this replaceable?

3) I'd love to put some neon tubes under the dash like I had in my old car. Other than the very little room to mount these I can't figure out where I could get the power from. Any suggestions?

Thanks Argon, that's kind of what I thought. I did find the previous post you mentioned that said to check for any wires that may have come out a bit. I had the unit out and all the wires seemed ok so I'm guessing it's the bulb...

Nope... As for the ipod thing, I have no idea... As far as the neon tubes, you might want to think about the strips ofLED lights. they fit anywhere. You could just squeeze the positive wire in with a fuse in the box (like the dashlight fuse). Then find a good ground.

Throw the crapy fm transmitter out. Search online at some places for an Ipod Auxiliary Audio Input. Becareful which one you buy because they have very specific applications on different radios and slave units. It hardwires it right to the back of the radio. I have a hookup for my Zune. They work good and be prepared to spend an extra 10-20 dollars for a ground/loop isolater because more than likely you will need one. Let me know if you need some stores to check on.
