Dashboard cracking
 

I have a 91 Silvarado with over 200,000 miles on it and besides the dashboard me or my dad who bought it new have never had any problems with it. The dashboard aparently has gotten a little to much sun over the years and is cracking all over the place. I was wondering if anyone has done something with theres except buyin a replacement wich is around 600 dollars everywhere ive checked so far.

My dad used to have this problem with his 86 silverado. Depending on the damage, you may be able to get away with a “dash cloth”, this covers the cracking and prevents further damage. They’re relatively cheap and easy to install (just use Velcro) Your other option is to remove the dash and repair the cracks with filler (silicone works well for this) then sand it down and if you want re-paint it.

I actually repair items like that for a living. I do auto interior repair for dealerships in my area, Central Wisconsin, and depending on how bad your dash looks I may be able to repair it for about $100 or so. I live in central Wisconsin though and I dont know where you live but if you live close I may be able to help.
