Default Diesel vers gas

Whats the pros and cons of a diesel vers a gas truck. I have a 2005 silverado with the 5.3 1500 with 41000 miles on it and im looking at a 2003 silverado 2500 hd diesel with 97000 miles on it. Is it worth the trade or should i just stick with the 2005. Thanks guys

Pros- Resale value, especially as mileage increases, more power, higher towing capability, lower fuel costs vs. gas, tunable for more hp/ torque, Allison transmission, engine warranty

Cons- Much higher initial cost, higher maintenace costs, stiffer ride?, also your gonna loose all the tricked out stuff you've already done to your truck!

I would say the your mileage wouldbe about the same. Most people making a switch like this do it because they need the extraabilities the 3/4 offers.

Either way you've got a great truck!

Good Luck

I would love to have the diesel as well, but you have just spent alot on your truck. Also you will be going with the lower power diesel than the newer diesels. I would stay where you are at and buy the newer model diesel later, especially since they are getting better every year. Your truck now is great.
