Default difference between SS and normal silverados?

Im wondering, as the SILVERADO SS has 345hp, and does 6.3sec (all-wheel drive version) from 0-60, and assuming i can get my truck with a couple more upgrades to 345 plus hp, whats the diference between the SS and my truck, i know its something about drivetrain, does anybody know exactly what did chevrolet changed in those trucks from normal ones as mine?
thanks a for your help.

First, what engine do you have, the SS has the 6.0. Second, the SS has light weight, different heads, different tuning, cam, exhaust. Also the SS is not made for towing. In fact I have heard if you put atow hitch on it, you void all warantee. So I think the motor would be more like the corvette motors, all go no tow.

If you are just trying to make your truck out perform a SS, there are far more practical ways of doing it other than copying the SS.

Just read my signature and the posts around here. You are at a slight disadvantage because you have a 4WD, but $$'s aren't really that bad-***. Just expensive. If you get things like roller rockers, 160 degree thermostat, a PCM tune, remove your pads, and things like that, You'll more than likely be right next to them.
