Dome light doesnt work
 

ok i have a 2007 2500HD 6.0L EXT Cab Classic. Basic work truck with a 5 speed manual. I open the door and press the dome over ride and everything and the dome light doesnt come on. Tried all the switches and nothing. Put brand new bulbs in and still nothing. None of the fuse blocks specify which fuse is for the courtesy lights. Turn signals work, lights on the panel work, running lights work, cargo light works, etc. I am trying to find a wiring schematic but no luck. Went to local parts store for repair manual but they didnt have one. Any help would be apprecaited!!!!

you can get a print out of the schematic at the dealer........dome override(at least on my 97) shuts the dome lights off not turn them on the dome light is usually tied in with the ciggerette lighter fuse

Correct the dome override makes it so it shuts off and does not turn it on. But the wheel next to it that adjusts the brightness of the instrument panel is what turns on and off the dome light manually. That does not work. I will check tonight on which one is the cigarette fuse and check to see if the cigarette outlet works.

could be the dome light part of the headlight switch is bad also

Yeah, I'm having the same problem. The override switch, if I turn it all the way, it turns on the lights but it won't turn on when the doors are open with the override depressed and extended.

Is the truck under warranty or extended warranty? If it isn't then I suspect a bad switch in the door that activates the light.

Well, I got it less than a year ago. Its only got 13k miles on it. I'll call to see if its covered under warranty.
