Door handle mech

I have an 02 2500HD and live in cold climate. Broke rear (suicide) door handle when door was frozn. Got fixed. Just broke tailgate handle. Both times something inside snapped with little pressure applied. Does this HD vehicle have plastic parts in the door handle mechanisms? Can I upgrade to stronger parts?

plastic parts...yes...upgrade.....I doubt it untill parts for your truck hit aftermarket
