Dual Exhaust?
 

I need help choosing what to do for exhaust. I have a '03 1500. Looking at doing some true dual, but i've heard there are better alternatives. I just don't know much when it comes to comparing sound, power, fuel, ect....

anyone have exhaust systems already that can help me out with what to get?

If you try and go true duels than you will most likely loose too much back pressure and you will end up loosing some HP because of it. Most people that want to go that route either; 1 put in a pressure cone in the exhaust that will keep the back pressure at the manifolds up where it is now. or 2 put only cat back exhaust on.
These two options are not the only things that you can do, but it is more likely to be a good mod that will not cause more work to be done to get a true duel set-up to work.

I guess all im looking for is good sound... so whats the best option for exhaust without decreasing performance?

True duals are not necessary. Dual exhaust isn't necessary either, it just looks good. My advice is go with a quality cat-back system. Magnaflow, Flowmaster etc. I have the Magnaflow cat-back dual system on my truck and love it. It's the second system I've had on the truck.The welds in my old system kept rusting out. The Magnaflow is all stainless steel so rust wont bean issue.

The Magnaflow is more mellow than FlowMaster and you don't notice it as much when you're driving, but outside it sounds fantastic. FlowMaster has a more aggressive tone, and IMO can get a little annoying when driving.

Do the research, and talk to people. If you see someone with exhaust ask them what it is and listen to how it sounds.

I have a flowmaster single in dual out muffler and I really like it. That is another option you can go with and its probably the cheapest for duals. This also keeps your back pressure up so you keep the low end power.

I had true dual in my 05' and lost a ton of power off the line, until I hit 2500 rpm, then it was fast. I would do a flowmaster single in dual out if I had it to do again. I ended up adding reducers tothe end of the pipes to get power nad milage back. I lost 3 seconds on 0-60 until I put on the reducers then gained 1 second compared to stock.
