RE: dyno

A stock 5.3 Silverado got 17hp at the wheels with a 91+ tune from a Hypertech. Predator will be in that ballpark depending on how its set up. A dyno tune will squeeze out a little more. I'd say 40 more hp to the rear wheels. Maybe 45 ft/lbs. 285hp will be about 245 to the wheels + 40hp so 285ish to the wheels.

Cool thanx.I really want to get some more info on nitrous.I was thinkin a 75 shot 100 shot might be a lil too much.Is there any engine modifications u need 2 make before runnin nitrous?

Start putting money away for a rebuild. I've never heard of anyone gtting much longevity out of an engine with nitrous. Its fun while it lasts though.

Do the '05s have aluminum or iron blocks? I wouldn't force induction on an aluminum block. Nitros is a pain, the bottle is never full when you want it an if it's not set right you'll create a shortcut to the oil pan from the heads via a hole in your piston.

I did some research on NOS, according to NX express "Some wS.6 guys I know pointed me toward them" The 4.8 can safley do 125, no more though because it will make your truck light in ways that are bad lol!

Havin NOS would be fun but I think I'm gana wait till I pay off the truck.Has anybody installed underdrive pulleys on their trucks what kind of gains would u get??I was thinkin maybe 10 to the wheels.

There are alot of myths about nitrous. If u run it correctly...window switch, wideband,....etc. they can last a LONG time, 4.8's and 5.3's LOVE the bottle...they respond better and long gevity to the bottle better than boost. Most people dont know wtf they are talkin about....they just know the bad results and there are some but if u go the "Safer" routs, u will be better off.

I agree that under the proper conditions nitrous can be run safely. It is my understanding that the window of proper conditions is rather narrow. In my opinion the cost of a repair due to nitrous damage outwieghs the gain in power.
