What do the letters mean at the end of the ECM Serv. No. BBMD, OR BBMC, or BDJZto name a few.Also can i use a ECM with the same number but not the same letters? thanx

I assume this for a 95 or older...thats your PROM broadcast code...you can use an ecm as long as the part# is the same,but use your prom

yes this for a 93 chevy silverado 5.7l. does the prom go bad also? thanx for the help

The prom will only go bad if the ECM fried it because of a short, (Doubt thats the case) or if it was physically damaged. It doesn't wear out.

tHE PROM HAS THE TRUCKS SPECIFIC INFO IN IT...just move it to the new ecm
