(EGR) stuff?
 

2000 silverado 4.3

How can you tell if the EGR valve is bad. This is the electric type.

can I clean it?

should I clean it?

would cleaning it help?

has anyone ever cleaned theirs?

what should I use to clean it?

can I use the same gasket or will I have to get another one?

Oh yeah only curious because I'm still trying to find the cause of
my rough idle.

Any check-engine lite?..if not,I'd say the egr is good.

nope no engine light

Then its a good bet the egr is good...How about the dist cap?..they are crummy on those 4.3's

eletric? so it has no vaccum line? if it does do what i done to mine pull off the line and plug it with a bolt or somethingdam things are nothing but bull****, we bought a ford tempo for $ 25 from an old lady once bad egr hit it with a hammer and it would work for 10 mins we just unhooked it and it ran fine.
