Spider Gear Injection replacement
Ok, so now that the weather is starting to warm up my list of things to do has grown to include looking at and probably replacing the spider gears in my injection system............so the question is: How hard is this to do and what does it entail?????? any one want to do a write up on it?

It's a fairly straight forward install. Remove all the crap that's in the way of the upper intake coming off, remove the upper intake, swap out the spider injection, and put everything back on. If your lower intake gaskets haven't been changed, it's a good time to do them as well. They are notorious for leaking. If you have any specific questions about it - fire away.
P.S. Don't you love my detailed instructions - sounds just like a Haynes Manual huh? LOL

What???? those were your own words???????? I could have sworn you copied them straght from the Haynes Manual................so whats the average price for spider gear replacment parts? and is that a dealer only item?

They have the old version, which is a little over $300 and a newer version which is closer to $400. This was the last time I priced them over a year ago. I guess it depends on how long you plan on keeping the truck as to which one to buy. The original version seems to last well over 100K (from my experience). If you have connections with a parts house you can get it a little cheaper.
Now I expect a fully detailed article with pics to go along with my detailed explanation of the procedure. Good luck with it man!
