Hey, I tried this question in the gmc section but didn't getany traffic. I guess it applies to silverados tooso here goes... I just bought a 2000 gmc sierra 1500, it doesn't have an owner's manual but the original window sticker was in it. It says it has an engine hour meter, where is it located or how do you access it? I've tried cycling thru the odometer using the button near it, but only see trip and regular odometer. Also can you access things thru the driver's message center or is it just like a smart idiot light.

with the key OFF,hold the trip button...after about 5 seconds,she'll flip to hours

It worked. It said 2467 hours with 96548 miles for an average speed of 39.1mph.

 

cool. mine read 3099 with 92k ... which calculates to 29.7 mph .. either more idle time, or more city driving

 

My truck has 1895 hrs with 103,000 kms on it., how do I use this information to my advantage., Thank You., Jacques
ps. Does this mean the truck has more idle time or more pavement time., ???
