my engine hours got erased when I brought my 2006 gmc truck in for a command start.I had 3800 hours and now I am at 26hrs.when you shut it off by the command start the radio and fan keeps running.but more importantly can my hours be restored?this might be looked at as tampering when I go to trade it in

 

if the radio and fan stay on with the command start then its wired up wrong, I know that on some models when you use the command start to start it and then shut it down the radio will stay onbecause the radio needs to see the door pin grounded (indicating the door open) in order to shut off. As for your hours I doubt that it can be restored by anyone other than the dealer. Just bring it in with your concern and they should be able to fix it. The hours setting is usually reset when the computer gets reset, but the mileage should never change with a reset of the computer.
