Engine swap

I have an 02 1/2T 2WD with a 4.3L V6 engine (engine code X in the VIN)
I'm considering swapping out the motor with a bigger V8. My question is this:
Will all the electrical connections that go to the engine still connect ??
Will the computer still do what it's supposed to ??
Will a V8 hook up to my trans (auto) ???

Any help is appreciated.

If you swap in a 5.7L Vortec all you would need is the 5.7L Vortec computer. Correct me if im wrong but its a pretty straight forward swap.
