I have a 05 Sierra 5.3 and I put the flowmaster cat back on. Mild/moderate settings, side exit. Sounds good. But the k&n series 57 is louder than the exhaust at higher rpms. That the way I want it. Quite cruising down the highway so can actually have a conversation with the people in the cab with me

Yeah I bet you can hear it pulling in alot of air huh?? It gives it that real throaty deep sound.

It sounds wicked when the engine is under load. That's for sure.

Have you thought about porting your throttle body?? You can do it yourself easy. It really helps smooth out the flow for incoming air.

Though about it. Haven't looked into it. Is it worth it? Any power gain or anything?

I tell you where i noticed it, is bottom end. I took my flap out and knife edged all round. Then from where the flap sits I took a air tool with a course bit and opened up the front of it and then used a fine sandpaper wheel to smooth it out. Doing this will allow the air to come in faster so you get quicker throttle response.
