Exhaust / 5.7L
I own a 95 Chevy 1500 with the 5.7L. Also I've been wondering if anyone has heard of or tried putting a "true" dual exhaust on these type of trucks, its a 4x4 But I think that it would be possible if I were to run the pipes on top of each other all the way to the rear axle then split them to run out normal. and since I dont have to worry about an emission check down here I was considering taking off the cats, and just having 2 Cherry Bombs on her. The only question I have on that is, Will that make my computer mess up? Or would it cause a problem with the gaskets not having enough back pressure. Another question I had was what kind of cam could i throw at this with out having to make many other swaps?

Are you having a local shop fab this up for you? If so, they will know how to route the pipes, especially if you want true duals with no cats on.. my 97 1500 with the 5.7L is true duals, no cats, and flowmasters... its sounds very nice, old school, and isnt too obnoxios... im afraid if you just put the cherry bombs on there, it will be too loud... mufflers will still be very loud but possible keep some sort of back pressure in there... ill try to get out and take some pics today, possibly some of the exhaust setup i have if youd like.

If you just want loud then do that. But if you want performance then this will kill alot of low end dude. People think running true duals makes gives it more power, NOT TRUE. Thses motors are not big enough. If you cam it out to like a 220's duration then freeing up the exhaust will help but then you will need more fuel and air. With that TBI set up ur pretty much limited to a mild cam.
