Exhaust/CAI/Chip

I have installed a magnaflow catback on my 2008 vmax 4X4. I also have a cortex 2950 tuner on order. I've heard that a CAI is not very compatible with an aftermarket exhaust and tuner chip. Problem seems to be pinging even with high test gas.

Anyone had this experience???

I would cancel/return/sell the handheld and get a more customized tune. Where are you located?

A handheld can't achieve what a tuner can achieve in person or mail-order. Check out nelsonperformance.com...probably the same price or less as the handheld.

I live in western Canada. Might take your advice. Bought the tuner for less than half the posted price so I could probably make a little profit. Checked out the website link you sent. Thanks!!! I'll get the info together and give them a try.

Allen (Nelson) provides free updates on the tune, also. So if you were to say add a cam and needed it tuned for the cam, he would simply send you a new PCM. You put the new one in, send yours back to him and your good to go.

"pinging even with high test gas"... I wonder if the computer iscompensating for the air/fuel ration properly? Try another brand of gasoline. If that does not cure it then take it back to the dealership and let them handle it under the warranty.Switching the brand of gasoline has fixed the problem for me before.
