Exhaust system for a 2005 Chevy Silverado 1500?
I just bought a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, and I want to have a loud exhaust. I was told that I should get true dual 12 inch glasspacks, any ideas? Trying to stay under 600 dollars. Must be legal also.
I suggest you start with a setof headers. You can get a set of regular steel headers for under 250. Then get a Magnaflow system. Their systems run about 600. I'm not sure if that would be as loud as what your looking for, but would definitely get peoples attention. It would really help your performance and keep you emissions legal.
If you go with true dual system with glasspack will hurt your MPG. You will loose to much back pressure unless you have a built up engine that we are not aware of. I personally would go with a muffler that is a single in dual out; such as a Flow master, Magnaflow, etc... If you want a glasspack thats cool, but don't due a true dual. I like the dual look out the rear. So if you want a glasspack like I said then I would dual it out after it. Just my 2 cents though.

I have a Flowmaster 40 series muffler on my 04, it's loud but not loud enough. My friend just bought a Flowmaster Super 44 for his 04 Chevy and it's got a real nice rumble to it, but it's still not that loud. but probably the best option would be to go with a dual set of straight-through Magnaflow mufflers.
