First Silverado, upgrades!
Hey guys, just bought a Silverado 1500 Work Truck from the place my mom works. It was used by an engineer to drive to and from a pipeline...
05 Silverado (extended) 4x4 with 128000 miles, and i paid 6500 dollars so i feel like i got a good deal. And since I have about 1100 bucks leftover im going to spend it upgrading the car (the interior is BONE stock)
heres the list
1) Linex including the tool box (~$650)
2) New molded carpet (the rubber mat is ugly) ($140)
3) Nerf Bars ($209) im buying Ionic brand? anyone heard of them
4) Rough Country leveling it ($100)
and for the future
5) New CD player - Crutchfield claims i need a bypass module to install an aftermarket CD player, does anyone know?
6) Leather seat covers, likely from Clazzio
7) CB radio- dont laugh we use them a lot in the woods
just wanted to get everyones opinions. and i guess my questions are
-does anyone know if Ionic nerf bars are any good? i assume anything stainless steel shouldn't rust
-anyone know if we need a bypass module to install an aftermarket radio
-has anyone installed new carpet? do i need to do anything other than unbolt the front seats?
thanks in advance

Sounds like a fun project.
I only have one comment. The Linex in my long bed only cost me $395.00, for the bed and tail gate, and it goes over the bed rails. I was charged an extra $49.00 to do the inside of my tool box.
Total: $444.00. Even when I asked about doing the rear wheel wells it was only another $50.00 each.
yikes! just got quoted 530 to spray the bed (over the rails) and 200 to do the tool box... he said he would have to etch and prime it... AND 99 bucks extra if i want the linex premium that wont fade...
anyone know a cheaper linex in NC or VA?
