Flowmaster Exhaust
 

I am looking at exhaust kits for a 2006 Silverado 1500 Z71. I have always liked Flowmaster the best so that's probably what I'll go with, but I can't decide between the dual exhaust with 50 series mufflers or the Muscle Truck system with Super 40's that has the tips right before the rear axle. Anyone have either of these setups or any Flowmaster setups and how do they sound? I was concerned that the 40's might be a bit loud, but I don't want it to be too quiet, so if I could just get some basic information that would be great.

I have the 40s dual and they are not too loud, but I recommend a single in dual out f you plan on a moderate buildup. If you have really bbbbbbig plans I can show you what I have and you will have a really free flowing system. prolem is you lose low end torque until you get your build up really going, but I can show you how to get alot back.

Im with smoke20 i have single in dual out 40s flowmaster.

i have true dual SUPER 40s, and they are loud.... its very annoying on the highway, but i love to hotrod through town and love the noise.

50 series is too quiet... but thats just me...

I have my exhaust unbolted at the flange under the passenger seat. Loud on the highway, but at full throttle, it scares the **** out of the ricer guys. Cheap, too....

i got dual 40 series flows dumped right before the axle. sounds real good. thinking about having it finished to come out the back tho.

Super 40's also dumped before axle.

The 40's will be loudest out of the two.. I love the sounds of flowmaster, but if you do a lil digging they really don't flow as well as they claim to. There are other systems out that flow more, magnaflow, gibson, hooker aerochamber ect just for a few.. But if your just looking for that sound, then your set.. :)

i HAVE SUPER 40 AND LOVE IT NOT LOUD AT IDLE BUT GREAT DEEP TONE ON THE GAS.MINE ARE OUT THE BACK,DONT REALLY LIKE THE IDEA OF HOT EXHAUST GASES BUILDIN UP UNDER THE VEHICLE.BUT IT IS COOL AS HELL CREAPIN DOWN A GRAVEL DRIVE WHEN THE DUST JUST BELOWS OUT.MINES 3IN IN AND DUAL 2 1/2IN OUT.ICUT MY STOCKER OFF AND WELDED MY MUFFLER ON AND TOOK IT TO A MUFFLER SHOP FOR THE TAILS AND THEN CUT AND PUT MY OWN STAINLESS TIPS ON.GOT MUFFLER OBAY FOR 75$ TIPS 50$ AND THEY DID MY TAILS FOR 100$.
