Foglight question
Hey everyone,
I have a 2007.5 Sierra 1500 new body and am trying to figure out if there is a way to use the fog lights as daytime running lights and have the low beams off during the day. I just installed HIDs as my lowbeams and dont want to overuse them. Ive also been trying to figure out how to turn off the low beams. they are always on while the truck is running unless im in park. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated Thanks in advance |
try turning the headlight switch to the parking light position.

Ive already tried that and nothing changes. the headlights stay on

Pull your DRL fuse leave your head light switch on and when it gets dark your head light should still work.
|
if you turn the headlight switch all the way to the left, then reset it to the auto setting, it turns off the DRL's. It was that way in my new body 2008, and my new 2011

I really don't understand the thing about being worried about bulb life. Bulbs are not that expansive, and really, I have never burned out a bulb. Only broken them.
|
I would want my bulbs to last for ever.. In the 4th generation Chev truck (like mine) the head light bulbs are a complete pain in the @ss to change.
|
ah, ok. my 05 is pretty simple. Pull a pin, slide the light one, take the bulb out, but the new one in, slide the light back in place and put the pin back in. Less then a minute. Even with the running lights. The main lowbeams are not the running lights on mine, it has seperate bulbs next to the blinker.

Look in your Owners Manual under "Canadian" information, there us usually information there on how to shut off the DRL's.
