fuel guage mis-function
my fuel guage does not read levels properly. What is the fix?
|
Could you give some more information? What model truck? What exactly is it doing?
Chevy's, especially older ones tend to have very bouncy fuel gauges, and the top half of the gauge is actually about 65% of the fuel. Other than that, I can't really help you... |
Agreed, the fuel gauges on GMT400/89-98 trucks are pretty inaccurate. Really just depends on the year of the truck. It could possibly be a fuel level sensor, could be resistance in the sensor wires, could be the gauge its self, could be debris in the tank keeping the float from moving, could be that the float fell off completely.
