Fuel pressure with 8.1L bucket?

Hi,
I just swappeda 8.1Lbucket and pump for a Silverado with my stock bucket on my GTO. Part # MU1417 GM #19133455.

I needed the extra capacity due to fuel demands on the modified GTO.

I wanted to see how the factory truck pump performed before swapping to a high flow Walbro 255.

After install the truck pump was putting out 53 PSI according to my gauge. Is this what they run at?

Appreciate the help,
Scott

Depends on the year but yes, that is normal operating pressure.

Thanks for the response. Do you know if this is just what the fuel pressure regulator limits it to? Or is the pump only capable of pushing out 53-55 PSI?
I need to be in the 60PSI range or retune it for a lower PSI.

thats what the pump puts out at least on the 88-98 style it is. these newer designs dropped pressure down lower then that.

60? Whatdid you do to the motor? Can you change the injectors to a lower requirement/higher output?

58-60 is factory PSI for an LS1. I would like bigger injectors and a retune, but injectors are around $400. A Walbro 255 which I have is only $100. I'm going to put that pump in and see if I can get the pressure back up. Thanks for the help.
