RE: Fuel pump removal.
This is another case where my electric hoist mounted in my garage will help lift off my bed if I ever have to change my fuel pump.:D

RE: Fuel pump removal.
Update: Got my pump out last night.
= Lifted truck up on hoist. = Disconnected fuel lines = Disconnected tank filler neck = Unbolted tank straps = Lowered tank down on tranny jack = Removed fuel pump Total of = 45 minutes Now waiting for new pump to come in today. |
RE: Fuel pump removal.
its easier to drop the tank UNLESS its full...plus here,we see so many redneck trucks with tool boxes and fifth wheel/redneck hitches taking the bed off would be a big chore...also there is the possibility of scratching the bed up on the bumper

RE: Fuel pump removal.
Actually, my friend has everything, he's a Master Tech., of a Japanese brand, has everything in his home garage, he also doesn't charge me anything, [sm=smiley4.gif] , i guess i'm nice to him too, or we trade work off, great friend to have.

RE: Fuel pump removal.
I gotta change mine to this weekend. I have never herd of taking the bed off but hmm maybe ill try it that way. Also my steel lines are so bad there are holes in them. Also changing tank to becuase theres a hole. Does anyone recomend that fuel line hose which is the rubber stuff?

RE: Fuel pump removal.
sounds like a good friend to have

RE: Fuel pump removal.
If youre getting a new tank I would just drop the old one without taking the bed off seams like more work.

RE: Fuel pump removal.
rubber lines are fine for pieces of #$@$ but if you dont want to get back down there in a matter of years i would put steel lines in there. that rubber dry rots really quick especially with gas running through them.

RE: Fuel pump removal.
In most cases, from what Ive heard, removing the bed is the easiest way.
and while you got the bed off, do some cleanin. [sm=signs007.gif] also, steel lines are the only way Id go. |
