Fuel pump... wonderful
 

Well, went to get in the truck at Meijer yesterday and lo and behold, my fuel guage is jumping all over the place, I can't hear the fuel pump, and the truck won't start.

Just frickin figures doesn't it when there's gonna be 12-18" dumped on us tonight. I banged on the tank with my handy dandy shovel and putzed her right on over to the shop. $700 later I should have a running truck I can pick up this afternoon

$700 what is that entail. I just put one in my 98 and I got the parts guy to give me a discount @ $340 for the pump. Are they charging you that much for labor??? I did mine myself and besides the fuel line giving me issues and having to go have another end put on ($25.00) it wasn't that bad. If I didn't have the damn 5th wheel I would have pulled the bed off. Anyway good luck and I hope you get it back before the white stuff blows in!

Well they initially did a diagnosis to make sure that the pump was the problem, but they worked overtime for it so they charged more on labor.

He also found that my ignition switch was bad. He tied together the ACC and ON wires so they both had power and she works now. He did that free though and it saved me $250 on an ignition switch.

Oh well, the final bill was $650 and I've got a truck that works now just in time for this Snowpocalypse.
