The fun of older vehicles.
Got up this morning, went to fire up the old girl and the choke was a bit gummed up making it run like crap. So after a nice walk in this lovely heat, I picked up some cleaner amd figure once it cools off a bit I'll go tinker with a carb..... Woohhhooo fun

fun fun carb work is allways fun sarcasm guys
|
You know it brother. It's really not all that bad though and no silly electronics to scream and pull hair about lol.
|
yep i just dont like messing with the jets there fro a while you couldnt buy tools for them but know you can
|
Once I'm done my body work.... I'm looking forward to working on my 57 chev to get her purring like a Tiger.
|
That's because us olde guys have held on to the carb tools but honestly there aren't too many specialty things that are tough to find. The good thing is that you can order a carb for any application and pretty reasonable too. The q jets were a crapshoot from the factory but rebuilt, they're pretty good. I'd love a Predator metered at around 670 cfm for my truck, it would be ideal.

If you need any tips, just ask. I'm not the greatest with newer vehicles but the core is still the same, engines are nothing but an air pump. I'm better on the old shtuff and bodywork is my specialty. Any guy can hang parts on a car. It takes a real man to cut one up.

I like my TBI thanks.
*runs away* |
@Nullhead, that was a good one (laughing). If I were to switch over, I'd go with a full fuel injection and maybe throw a twin turbo system at it too. Don't get me wronng, I do like TBI but since mine didn't come with it,,,,,,,,,,,,,
|
Hah well if I could afford to switch to full 8 injector setup, I'd be all over that setup. Otherwise, TBI is as good as it gets for me. Plus it's already installed on my truck lol
