Default Gas Gauge

Lately my gas gauge has had a mind of its own. It bounces back from empty to full. Most of the time it happens when the engine is running in park. It goes to "E" then I shake the truck and it bounces back. Has this happened to anyone else?????

thanks for the info argon. When I bought the truck last year I purchased a warranty so i'll have to check to see if it is covered. Im pretty sure it is.
