Default 1977 GMC 2500 4x4??

So, because I live in Michigan, and my truck is in mint condition and 2wd, I figured it would be in my best interests to find an older 4wd truck to help me out in the winter so the salt and snow don't take their toll on my baby ;D I was browsing the craigslist and I came across this little gem for $600

Is there anything I should worry about with a 77? What should I ask about, I am a little concerned because of how cheap it is. Oh and if you are worried about the rust, I don't care, this is Michigan and there are 2004 chevys with more rust than this one

I tried the link you listed but it came up as an error for me so I can't see what this truck looks like. I have had a 78 C10 and my dad has a 79 4x4 4speed. We've also had an 87 GMC 4x4 and a 73 C10 so I am pretty experienced with that model you are describing.

So, it is 1977 model, 3/4 ton, 4x4. Is it automatic (if so does it have a TH-350 or TH-400?), how many miles are on it? What size motor does it have? Do you know if anything has been rebuilt or overhauled? I'm guessing it is a long bed (since at the moment I can't remember seeing a 3/4 ton short bed in that year model). One thing that makes the 77 different than the 73-76 and 78-87 for sure on Chevrolet is on the trim down the side of the truck. I don't know if they did this to GMC as well or not. But only in 1977 Chevrolet put a gold/yellow stripe instead of the black stripe on all the other years. That is one way to know if it is a real 77 model. What gear ratio does it have?
I know I asked alot of questions about this truck. I'm just a fan of that body style. $600 sounds good so far though.

ah man, I'm sorry to hear that. It wasn't me that bought it. But I wanted to!
